SUMMARY:Volunteer Mentoring Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This Volunteer Mentoring Training is aimed at volunteers operating in a leadership or mentoring capacity\, either for fellow volunteers or participants or clients of their organisation.\nThis four-hour workshop will outline all that mentoring entails including the mentoring relationship journey and framework\, identifying risks\, maintaining boundaries\, and developing mentoring skills. \nOutcomes \n\nDevelop mentoring skills:\n\nIdentifying needs & barriers\nProblem Solving\nStrengths based approach\nGoal Setting\n\n\nBuild a comprehensive knowledge of a mentors’ role and responsibilities.\nBe equipped with the tools & resources to develop a mentoring program.\n\nAll attendees will receive a physical Mentoring Handbook. \nCatering will be provided. \nVolunteeringACT is committed to inclusion of people of all backgrounds and abilities. Please let us know if you have any access or support requirements.\nFees for this training should be paid by the organisation the volunteer mentor is working at\, volunteers should not incur any out-of-pocket expenses as part of their role or development.

SUMMARY:Consultation - National Standards for Volunteer Involvement Refresh
DESCRIPTION:As you may know\, the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement (NSVI) are being refreshed to ensure they reflect the contemporary volunteering environment and continue to provide meaningful support volunteering involving organisations.\nThis refresh project involves consultation across the whole volunteering ecosystem\, which includes you! \nIn line with the refresh project\, we are holding an online information and consultation session.\nThis session will aim to: \n\nSupport the overall National consultation objectives taking place across all jurisdictions as part of the NSVI refresh.\nSupport the NSVI refresh to reflect the experiences of ACT VIOs and align with the ACT Volunteering priorities.\n\nThis is an opportunity for you and your organisation to have a voice in a National and far-reaching project that will have a direct impact on future and ongoing volunteer programs and volunteer management best practice. \nDate: Thursday 27 April \nTime: 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm (2.5 hrs) \nLocation: Online via Microsoft Teams\, link to be sent out to registered attendees prior to the session. \nThis session is completely free and will be held online. \nIf you would like to provide feedback on the NSVI but are unable to attend this session\, please contact us directly via membership@volunteeringact.org.au or policy@volunteeringact.org.au and we will make alternative arrangements to capture your input.
