SUMMARY:Inclusive Volunteering for Organisations - Online Session
DESCRIPTION:Inclusion matters. Based on key learnings from the Inclusive Volunteering Pathways to Employment Program\, this engaging workshop will explore how to build an inclusive community where people of all abilities and backgrounds can contribute. \nThe workshop will explore the positive outcomes of inclusive volunteering by reviewing case studies and utilising practical tips to increase inclusion. This workshop will provide you with the skills to remove the barriers to volunteering and provide you with the tools to help people find meaningful volunteering opportunities.  You will be challenged to consider the benefits that can be unlocked through volunteering\, including a stronger sense of social inclusion in your workplace. Identifying barriers to inclusion and understanding simple solutions for removing these barriers will be explored from both the individual and organisation. \nOutcomes: \nBy the end of this session\, you will: \n\nunderstand Inclusive Volunteering;\nunderstand why we strive to be inclusive​;\nbe able to identify barriers to inclusion​​;\nhave knowledge to reduce the impact of barriers​​; and\,\nunderstand what it means to be part of an inclusive team.\n\nSession Date: Monday 7 August\nSession Time: 4:00pm – 5:30pm\nSession Location: This session will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams. \nThis training is free (valued at $85 and paid for by the Australian Government.) \nVolunteering ACT is committed to inclusion of people of all backgrounds and abilities. SUMMARY:Consultation session: NDIS Review
DESCRIPTION:The NDIS Review consultation is ongoing and now has a revised deadline of 25 August 2023. VolunteeringACT has already provided some initial reflections from our experiences in the ACT to the NDIS Review Team\, and provided input into Volunteering Australia’s submission response to this consultation.   \nWe are now drafting our ACT submission response and will be holding an online consultation session to seek further feedback from VIOs and people with lived experience of disability\, to add to our current evidence-base.
