Through this experience\, Training Officers gain a deeper understanding of the lived experience in our community and how people are supported through volunteering and community services. This partnership provides community organisations with an opportunity to boost their volunteering power for a day and tackle projects with teams of volunteers. \nThis year\, the Weary Dunlop Activity will be held from Thursday 13 October to Friday 14 October 2022. \nProjects can include anything from refreshing your office gardens\, donation sorting\, providing conversation to community members\, to technical support. \n \nWant to know more? DESCRIPTION:Inclusion matters. Based on key learnings from the Inclusive Volunteering Pathways to Employment Program\, this engaging workshop will explore how to build an inclusive community where people of all abilities and backgrounds can contribute. \nThe workshop will explore the positive outcomes of inclusive volunteering by reviewing case studies and utilising practical tips to increase inclusion. This workshop will provide you with the skills to remove the barriers to volunteering and provide you with the tools to help people find meaningful volunteering opportunities.  You will be challenged to consider the benefits that can be unlocked through volunteering\, including a stronger sense of social inclusion in your workplace. Identifying barriers to inclusion and understanding simple solutions for removing these barriers will be explored from both the individual and organisation. \nOutcomes: \nBy the end of this session\, you will: \n\nunderstand Inclusive Volunteering;\nunderstand why we strive to be inclusive​;\nbe able to identify barriers to inclusion​​;\nhave knowledge to reduce the impact of barriers​​; and\,\nunderstand what it means to be part of an inclusive team.\n\nThis session will be delivered online via Zoom. \nThis training is free (valued at $80 and paid for by the Australian Government.) \nVolunteering ACT is committed to inclusion of people of all backgrounds and abilities. DESCRIPTION:The National Standards for Volunteer Involvement are a national best practice guide for volunteer involvement. \nThis four-hour workshop will assist your organisation to prepare for the implementation of the National Standards. Based on key learnings from the Inclusive Volunteering Pathways to Employment Program\, this engaging workshop will explore how to build an inclusive community where people of all abilities and backgrounds can contribute. \nThe workshop will explore the positive outcomes of inclusive volunteering by reviewing case studies and utilising practical tips to increase inclusion. This workshop will provide you with the skills to remove the barriers to volunteering and provide you with the tools to help people find meaningful volunteering opportunities.  You will be challenged to consider the benefits that can be unlocked through volunteering\, including a stronger sense of social inclusion in your workplace. DESCRIPTION:The National Standards for Volunteer Involvement are a national best practice guide for volunteer involvement. \nThis four-hour workshop will assist your organisation to prepare for the implementation of the National Standards.
