We will explore the key rights and responsibilities to be aware of as changes are made to your volunteering role and what to expect as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our community. \nThis training is delivered in a hybrid format. Attendance is available both in person and online via Zoom video. \nNote: this training is valued at $85 and subsidised through funding by the ACT Government.

DESCRIPTION:Each year on International Volunteer Day the world celebrates volunteers and their immeasurable contribution to community life.  \nThis year\, VolunteeringACT and Canberra Aqua Park will be hosting a free Volunteer Day on Lake Burley Griffin for VolunteeringACT Members and their volunteers. \nThis event is exclusive to VolunteeringACT Member Volunteers and their families. The Volunteer Day will be held from 10am to 8pm on Friday 27 November. \nTo register for your FREE ticket\, please click here. Your ticket will be sent to you electronically. \nYou must volunteer for one of VolunteeringACT’s Members to register for a ticket. \n  \nTerms and Conditions: \nMinimum age is five years old. Children under ten must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nAll guests are required to sign a waiver. Adults (over 18) are required to sign for all guests under 18. Waivers can be printed and signed in advance\, or filled out on site. Click here to download the waiver. \nYou must arrive 30 minutes prior to your session to check-in\, fill out/submit your waiver\, and attend a compulsory safety briefing. \nLimit of one session per ticketholder. If you register for multiple sessions we will contact you and ask you to pick one session to attend. DESCRIPTION:This is an opportunity for your organisation to explore a new way of engaging existing volunteers as well as utilising a more targeted approach to onboarding volunteers for virtual projects. This information session provides a comprehensive understanding of the Communiteer platform and it’s intended use\, as well as a Q&A session to ask all your questions before progressing on your virtual volunteering journey.   \nThrough Communiteer your organisation manages a project\, rather than managing individual volunteers\, and those who volunteer to complete your project already have the professional skills required.  \nOver the past three months VolunteeringACT and Communiteer have worked with 10 volunteer involving organisations (our first cohort of Pioneers) to test virtual volunteering in a new way. We are currently looking for our second cohort of Pioneers to join our Virtually Together campaign. Jamila writes a weekly column for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age\, is a regular commentator on The Project\, Today\, The Drum and ABC News Breakfast and an occasional host on ABC Radio Melbourne. \nClare Bowditch is a beloved ARIA Award Winning Musician\, Logie Nominated actor (Offspring)\, and one of Australia’s most respected public speakers (on topics of modern mental health\, big-hearted business\, all things “Being Woman”). Clare has been Rolling Stone Woman of the Year (Contribution to Culture) and been invited to tour with some of the absolute greats (Leonard Cohen\, Gotye\, Cat Power). \nTogether they run a frequent live talk show with a wide range of different guests. In their support of volunteers\, they will be hosting this show for the purpose of discussing their love for volunteers\, their favourite memories of volunteering and being supported by volunteers.

A highly respected media presenter\, he is also a global advocate for diversity and social harmony\, known for his contribution to Australian society well beyond the playing field.
