What are your rights and responsibilities as a volunteer? \nJoin us for a better understanding of what volunteering is and what it involves. This session will cover the fundamentals on how to find a volunteering role\, and what you can expect as you begin your volunteering journey. Attendees will be invited to share their experiences and discuss their volunteering goals. \nOutcomes:\nBy the end of this session\, attendees will: \n\nunderstand what volunteering is;\nunderstand how to find a volunteering role;\nunderstand the rights and responsibilities of volunteers and volunteer involving organisations; and\,\nunderstand what to expect from a volunteering role.\n\nThis training is delivered in a face to face format. \nVolunteeringACT is committed to inclusion of people of all backgrounds and abilities. SUMMARY:Weary Dunlop Information Briefing Session 3
DESCRIPTION:Do you have a project in your organisation that needs volunteers? \nVolunteeringACT partners with the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) each year to deliver the Weary Dunlop Activity. \nThe Weary Dunlop Activity is a large-scale volunteering activity that sees first-year Training Officers contributing their time to the Canberra community. Through this experience\, Training Officers gain a deeper understanding of the lived experience in our community and how people are supported through volunteering and community services. This partnership provides community organisations with an opportunity to boost their volunteering power for a day and tackle projects with teams of volunteers. \nThis year\, the Weary Dunlop Activity will be held from Thursday 13 October to Friday 14 October 2022. \nProjects can include anything from refreshing your office gardens\, donation sorting\, providing conversation to community members\, to technical support. \n \nWant to know more?
