National Volunteer Week 2023 is such an important week to recognise the invaluable work of volunteers across the country. We are pleased to share the highlights from VolunteeringACT events below: Volunteering Symposium and Volunteering Expo. Thank you for celebrating with us and supporting our events through your attendance and participation. We couldn’t have done it without you!
The volunteering sector came together at the Volunteering Symposium 2023
The Volunteering Symposium 2023 was the perfect space for volunteer managers and volunteers to exchange valuable ideas about improving the volunteering sector and making it more inclusive. VolunteeringACT wants to express gratitude to the more than one hundred in-person attendees and everyone who attended online for participating and being such an engaged audience. We hope that the information and resources received as part of the panels and sessions will be a helpful tool to make volunteer managers’ roles easier and volunteers’ experiences more enriching. Another special thank you to all the speakers and presenters for sharing their knowledge, stories and experiences with all our attendees. We hope you enjoy some pictures of the Symposium and look forward to seeing you next year for the 2024 Volunteering Symposium!
Canberrans responded to the call to volunteer by attending the Volunteering Expo 2023
To close our #NationalVolunteerWeek, VolunteeringACT delivered its highly successful Volunteering Expo. Held on 20 May at Campbell High School, we had a great turnout of people of all ages interested in giving their time to the community through volunteering. People who didn’t know how to get involved with volunteering before, those who used to be volunteers but had to stop because of COVID and many others found a new volunteering role right for them thanks to the Expo.
We want to thank the 50 volunteer-involving organisations that exhibited at our Expo this year. We hope this event will strengthen your volunteer programs and position volunteering in the top of the minds of people in the Canberra region. Thank you Canberra for attending the Expo despite the cold autumn weather!
