To get the best and most meaningful contribution from the one in five people in Australia who live with disability or mental health conditions, volunteer involving organisations can design inclusive programs that are accessible to people of all ages, abilities, genders, sexualities, and cultures.

Is your organisation interested in creating a more inclusive volunteering environment? Do you need volunteers to work with you to deliver your mission?

We’re here to help!

Some of the ways we can support volunteer involving organisations are to:

  • help create volunteer roles that are inclusive and accessible
  • match participants from our Program with your volunteer opportunities and support you to make each placement a success
  • provide advice and resources on how to better support your volunteers from all backgrounds, including through accessible spaces and online platforms
  • offer training and workshops on inclusion in your workplace
  • provide checklists to help you build inclusive practices
  • share resources on inclusive and accessible workspaces
  • review your organisational processes, procedures, and practices

There is no cost for ACT and region not-for-profit organisations to access our volunteer involving organisation support services. These services are also available to for-profit organisations on a cost-recovery basis.

Organisations do not need to be a member of VolunteeringACT to be eligible for support through the Program.

You can also refer participants who may be eligible for the Program who already interact with your organisation and our team can offer them additional support.
