National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering. This special event provides an opportunity to highlight the important role of volunteers in our community and invites people not currently volunteering to give it a go.
Every year during National Volunteer Week, VolunteeringACT hosts two key events to promote volunteering, connect the Canberra community to volunteer involving organisations and engage the volunteering sector to build knowledge and provide education, best practice and guidance to ensure volunteering is safe, inclusive and accessible.

Note both of these events are fully accessible, with wheelchair accessible venues, accessible parking and auslan interpreters. Note we accept companion cards.
The Volunteering Expo
The Expo is held every year to connect the Canberra community to volunteering opportunities and volunteer involving organisations in the Canberra Region. There are a wide and diverse range of organisations exhibiting, with sectors such as environment, sport, education, science, arts, tourism, emergency response and more!
The Expo is a wonderful place to start your volunteering journey and to learn more about how you can get involved in supporting the community and find the perfect role for you.
Entry is free for visitors, and there will be food, coffee, music and more!

The Volunteering Conference
The Volunteering Conference is held annually to build capability, professional development, connection and skills within the Canberra Region volunteering ecosystem.
This event is focused on delivering impactful and relevant sessions to improve the volunteering ecosystem through discussions on best practice, national standards, strategies, cultural competency and inclusion and diversity.
Join us for a full day of professional development and engage with your peers in the volunteering sector in the Canberra Region.
