As a Volunteer Mentor, you will be introduced to and matched with one of our Program participants using a person-centred approach.

In this role, your primary focus is to be a friendly and familiar face and provide general guidance and moral support as participants begin their volunteering journey.

You will assist by helping participants build confidence and develop new skills within their volunteer role as they work towards their set goals. Their goals may be learning specific tasks, comfortably interacting with new people, or gaining vital experience in a work environment. For some participants, showing up for a regular shift is an achievement.

This volunteering role requires a commitment of one hour per week for at least one month. Typically, mentors are matched with one participant at a time, however if you are interested and have capacity in supporting more than one participant, please discuss this with our team during your initial meeting. Time commitments and the process of participant matching can vary on a case-by-case basis, and we will confirm requirements with you as part of the onboarding process.
